Why the Google Business Profile matters more in 2026

Classic search results with ten blue links are losing importance. Google’s AI-powered search increasingly answers local questions directly, with recommendations taken from the Business Profile rather than from the website itself. A profile with gaps in photos, opening hours or review replies is included less often in these answers, no matter how good the website is.

This check is purely a self-assessment: nothing is read automatically from your Google profile, you answer the questions yourself by looking at your own profile. A real comparison with your local competitors’ profiles requires personal local SEO advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Google tool?
No. The check is an independent self-assessment tool by bytebrise and has no technical connection to Google. You answer the questions yourself by looking at your own Google Business Profile; nothing is read automatically.
Are my answers stored?
No. The entire check runs in your browser, no answers are sent to a server or stored. Reloading the page resets everything.
How is the score calculated?
Each of the 15 questions has a weight between 4 and 10 points, adding up to 100 points. “Yes” counts in full, “Partly” counts half, “No” counts zero. The score shown refers to the questions answered so far and is recalculated with every new answer.
Does the check replace local SEO advice?
No. The check gives a rough self-assessment based on general best practices. A comparison with local competitors or an individual strategy is only possible with personal local SEO advice.
Why is the Google Business Profile so important in 2026?
Google’s AI-powered search increasingly pulls local recommendations straight from the Business Profile instead of sending users to websites first. An incomplete profile is included less often in these answers, no matter how good the actual website is.
