Accessibility (BFSG) & tech fix

Findings fixed, not just listed.

Your website report shows where BFSG accessibility requirements or technical standards are not met. We carry out the fixes, with the scope agreed in advance, a fixed price and a retest to WCAG 2.1 AA.

How the handover works

Three steps, no upfront fee for the assessment.

  1. 01

    Review the findings

We go through your report (or run our own short analysis if needed) and assign every BFSG and technical finding to one of the four packages.

  2. 02

    Fixed-price quote

You receive a quote with the exact scope: which pages, which findings and what is explicitly not included.

  3. 03

    Implementation & retest

Once the work is done, we check every page we worked on again, automatically and manually, and document the result for each finding.

The four fix packages

The scope is deliberately limited. Anything beyond the package you book is offered to you beforehand as a supplementary quote, never as a surprise. Quick Fixes is the easy way in for anyone who first wants the most urgent issues out of the way; the three larger packages are for the full pass.

All prices are final prices with no separate VAT shown (bytebrise uses the small-business rule under §19 UStG). Timescales are estimates and depend on our current workload. Any work beyond the agreed scope is offered to you as a supplementary quote before we start, never afterwards.
Why the prices are below the market average A classic accessibility retrofit is usually costed at €2,500 to €5,000, because the diagnosis of which findings exist in the first place takes up most of the time. Your report has already done that diagnosis. We take over the findings already identified and prioritised there and implement them, hence the lower price for a clearly limited scope.

What “fixed” means for us

Every bytebrise project, including newly built websites, goes through the same quality check before handover: an automated scan with axe-core, a manual keyboard walk-through of the whole page and contrast spot checks to WCAG 2.1 AA. For a fix order we apply exactly this process to the pages we work on, not only to new projects.

At the end you receive short documentation: which finding was fixed and how, and what the retest shows. Not a blanket “done”, but traceable finding by finding.

Legal context, without exaggeration

The German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) has applied since 28 June 2025. It directly covers certain products and services in electronic commerce with consumers, such as online shops or booking systems with a payment function. Purely informational sites without a contract being concluded are not always directly covered; WCAG is still sensible practice there and a competitive advantage.

Micro-enterprises (fewer than 10 employees and less than €2 million annual turnover) are exempt from the obligation for services. Whether and to what extent the BFSG applies to your website has to be assessed case by case.

So far there is no publicly known fine from a market surveillance authority and no court ruling confirming that BFSG breaches are generally grounds for a cease-and-desist letter (Abmahnung). Some law firms send such letters anyway; their legal footing is disputed among specialist lawyers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a namedly report first?

No. You can also get in touch without a report; we will then review the findings ourselves first and assign them to a package.

What if there are more findings than the booked package covers?

We tell you beforehand: you receive any additional scope as a supplementary quote before work starts, never as a surprise on the invoice.

Will the website then be 100 % BFSG-compliant or safe from cease-and-desist letters?

No serious provider promises that. We fix the findings listed in the agreed scope in a verifiable and documented way. A technical implementation cannot guarantee full legal compliance.

Is VAT shown?

No. bytebrise uses the small-business rule under §19 UStG. All bytebrise prices stated are final prices with no separate VAT shown.

What happens after the fix order is completed?

The fixed pages stay as they are; we do not automatically look after them further. For ongoing maintenance there is the Care Plan, bookable separately and cancellable monthly.

Would you rather we call you back?

Your name and phone number are enough, we will get back to you.

Check for free yourself

Automated accessibility check against WCAG 2.0/2.1 (A/AA) for your own website. We only check the address you enter, no checks of other people's websites, no mass scans. We send you the result by email; the check itself runs in the background and can take a few minutes.
