soloklar: the second product we run ourselves.

soloklar is bytebrise's own website kit for solo self-employed professionals: 38 designs, a guided setup wizard and its own payment processing via Stripe. Not a client project, but a second, standalone business that we've designed, built and run ourselves since summer 2026.

Starting point

Building websites for clients is our core business. But that doesn't answer the question behind it: can we carry a digital product entirely on our own, from the first line of code to running payments, with no client contract and no safety net? With soloklar, we tested exactly that.

soloklar is aimed at solo self-employed people who'd rather put their own site together than commission a project. That's a different audience from our agency business, not a discount offshoot of it: bytebrise remains the address for anyone who wants to hand off the whole build.

Concept & Design

At the core is a guided setup wizard: anyone who doesn't want to see a line of code picks from 38 ready-made designs, adds their logo, text and contact details, and ends up with a finished website kit instead of staring at an empty builder screen.

Logo creation, print templates, a digital signature and the required legal texts are part of the kit, not an upsell, priced in from the start.

Build

The entire purchase flow is ours: Stripe checkout, our own Cloudflare Worker for payment processing, automated delivery of the chosen theme kit as a ZIP from a Cloudflare R2 bucket. No third-party builder in the background, no outside platform where we're just another customer.

Live Operation

soloklar has been live on soloklar.de since summer 2026, with all 38 designs previewable up front. The kit costs a one-off €129, and anyone who adds guided setup pays €179 as a bundle, either way with no subscription and no running costs.

What we take from it

The checkout, automated delivery and wizard logic we built for soloklar, we now test on our own product first. What runs stable there later feeds into client projects with their own ordering or self-service parts.
